You can have a great night sleep with a few simple sleep aids:
starting with an anatomic pillow, a sleeping eye mask, or earplugs, or sleeping pills, or even insomnia hypnosis CDs.

The problem with over the counter sleeping pills is that apart from the unwanted side effects, they are highly addictive and also the body gets quickly used to them, so higher doses are required for the same effect in the long term.

There are many natural sleep aids, ranging from the chamomile teas, and many other herbs like valerian root, and minerals like magnesium and calcium, to homeopatic cures, to magnetic sleep pads.

While snoring is not usually considered a sleep disorder, it is a symptom of sleeping problems, there are several sleep aids to stop snoring.
Apart from the surgery used for the more severe cases, nasal strips and corrective pillows may help.
It is known that sleeping position does have a marked effect on snoring, to reduce or eliminate it, sleeping on the side or on your front has proved successful.

The above sleep aids can be used for the common problem of insomnia, if you find it difficult to fall asleep or wake up easily.

For more serious sleep disorders like sleep apnea (repetitive short intervals of stopped breathing during sleep) a breathing assistance apparatus is used, the most common is the CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) which is basically a mask with plastic tubes and an air pump which forces airflow through your nose in order to keep your airways open.

Before rushing off to buy a multitude of sleep aids, make sure you have followed the sleep tips described on the other page, because easy behavioural changes result in longer lasting sleep improvement.
